Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministries (Children, Youth, Teens & Young Adults)

First Shiloh Baptist Church (FSBC) is a Christ-centered congregation committed to worshiping God in spirit and in truth while building a godly community that bridges generations through discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, and spiritual growth. We are seeking a passionate and spiritually mature Associate Pastor who will provide leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care for our Children, Youth, Teen, and Young Adult Ministries.

Position Summary

Under the spiritual oversight of Pastor Jacob Vital, Pastor Francis Elisée, and Pastor René Jeanty, the Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministries will provide leadership, discipleship, pastoral care, mentorship, and spiritual oversight for the Children, Youth, Teen, and Young Adult Ministries of First Shiloh Baptist Church.

The Associate Pastor will work closely with the pastoral leadership team to cultivate a thriving ministry that promotes biblical literacy, Christian fellowship, leadership development, evangelism, prayer, worship, service, and spiritual growth.

Primary Responsibilities

Next Generation Ministry Leadership

Provide spiritual leadership and oversight for the Children, Youth, Teen, and Young Adult Ministries.
Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy that promotes spiritual growth, biblical knowledge, Christian service, and leadership development.
Recruit, train, mentor, supervise, and support ministry volunteers and future leaders.
Develop age-appropriate Bible studies, discipleship classes, leadership training programs,outreach initiatives, and special events.
Foster a ministry culture centered on worship, prayer, discipleship, biblical teaching,fellowship, accountability, and evangelism.
Build strong relationships with youth, young adults, parents, and families.
Encourage active participation and integration of youth and young adults into the broader life and ministries of the church.
Friday Night Youth & Young Adult Ministry

Lead and oversee Friday Night Bible Studies, Youth Gatherings, and Young Adult Ministry activities.
Develop a structured ministry format that includes worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, fellowship, leadership development, mentoring, outreach, and prayer.
Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to ministry participants.
Identify and mentor future ministry leaders and volunteers.
Coordinate youth and young adult events, retreats, conferences, fellowship opportunities,and outreach initiatives.Saturday Morning Prayer Ministry
Actively participate in the church’s weekly Saturday Morning Prayer Ministry.
Lead prayer services as assigned by the pastoral leadership team.
Assist in organizing prayer themes, devotionals, Scripture readings, prayer focuses, andministry assignments.
Encourage youth and young adults to participate in corporate prayer and spiritualdisciplines.
Help cultivate a culture of prayer throughout the church and Next Generation Ministries.
Second Saturday Youth & Young Adult Prayer Service

Lead and oversee the monthly Youth and Young Adult Prayer Service held on the second Saturday of each month.
Plan and coordinate prayer initiatives that encourage spiritual growth, worship, intercession, discipleship, and fellowship.
Coordinate speakers, worship leaders, testimonies, ministry volunteers, and outreach opportunities when appropriate.
Encourage youth and young adults to develop strong personal prayer lives and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.Work intentionally to build a vibrant prayer culture among the next generation. Sunday Ministry Responsibilities
Preach, teach, and minister as assigned by the pastoral leadership team.
Serve on the church preaching schedule alongside pastors, ministers, and guest speakers.
Assist with sermon translation and interpretation services when needed.
Support Sunday School, worship services, discipleship initiatives, and church-wideministry efforts.
Encourage youth and young adults to actively participate in worship services andministry opportunities.
Pastoral Care & Shepherding

Provide biblical counseling, mentorship, prayer, encouragement, and spiritual guidance to youth, young adults, and their families.
Conduct follow-up with ministry participants, visitors, and prospective members.
Organize fellowship activities, retreats, outreach events, discipleship opportunities,conferences, and service projects.
Assist individuals and families through spiritual, personal, relational, and life challenges.
Encourage church membership, discipleship, and long-term spiritual growth.
Church Leadership & Ministry Support

Support and advance the vision, mission, values, and objectives of First Shiloh Baptist Church.
Work collaboratively with Pastor Jacob Vital, Pastor Francis Elisée, Pastor René Jeanty, ministry leaders, and church leadership.
Attend pastoral staff meetings, leadership meetings, planning sessions, and ministry development meetings.
Assist with revival services, church anniversaries, conferences, retreats, evangelistic outreach efforts, leadership events, and special services.
Participate in ministry planning, budgeting discussions, goal setting, and strategic initiatives related to Next Generation Ministries.
Serve as a representative of the pastoral leadership team when assigned.
Qualifications

Spiritual Qualifications

Must be a born-again believer with a clear and evident call to pastoral ministry.
Must demonstrate a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyleconsistent with biblical principles.
Must be committed to prayer, discipleship, evangelism, biblical teaching, and servantleadership.
Must fully support the vision, mission, values, and doctrinal beliefs of First ShilohBaptist Church.Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Ministry, Christian Education, Pastoral Studies, or a related field required.
Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master’s Degree in Theology, Ministry, Pastoral Leadership, or related field preferred.
Additional seminary training, ministry certifications, or theological education is highly desirable.
Ministerial Requirements

Must be a licensed and ordained minister in good standing.
Minimum of three (3) years of ministry experience working with children, youth, teens,and/or young adults.
Demonstrated experience in preaching, teaching, discipleship, pastoral care, leadershipdevelopment, and ministry administration.
Ability to effectively communicate biblical truth to diverse age groups.
Ability to preach, teach, lead Bible studies, mentor leaders, and provide pastoral care.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative pastoral leadership structure
Personal Requirements

Must be married and demonstrate biblical leadership within the home.
Must be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively in French and/or HaitianCreole.
Must possess strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, humility, and spiritualmaturity.
Must possess a passion for mentoring and developing future leaders.
Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
Must successfully complete child protection and youth safety training.
Must comply with all FSBC child protection, safety, and ministry policies and procedures.
Availability Requirements

Must be available to serve on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and designated church events throughout the year.
Must regularly attend and participate in Tuesday Night Prayer Services.
Must be available to assist with revival services, church anniversaries, conferences,retreats, evangelistic outreach events, leadership meetings, and special church programs.
May be asked to assist with premarital counseling, marriage enrichment initiatives,family ministry efforts, and pastoral care assignments.
Must maintain regular communication with the pastoral leadership team.
Must demonstrate flexibility and a servant-hearted willingness to assist wherever ministryneeds arise.
Will serve under the direction, oversight, and accountability of Pastor Jacob Vital, PastorFrancis Elisée, and Pastor René Jeanty.
