Project Manager – Civil Engineer

A growing engineering firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Civil Engineer to lead civil design, scheduling, budgeting, and permitting efforts across a variety of development projects. This role involves close collaboration with consultants and internal design teams to deliver high-quality, efficient project outcomes throughout all phases of development. The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project scopes and budgets for proposals
  • Prepare and draft proposals for new projects for leadership review
  • Design engineering construction drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for a range of project types, including commercial, residential subdivisions, industrial, retail, multi-family, and capital improvement projects
  • Lead civil design efforts and coordinate with internal staff and external consultants
  • Oversee preparation of drawings and specification packages
  • Perform grading, drainage, and utility design in accordance with local standards
  • Coordinate with local authorities, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams during design and construction phases
  • Maintain and expand client relationships
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates
  • Perform additional related duties as needed

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrated expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Manage projects with budgets ranging from approximately $750K to $1M
  • Interpret and integrate consultant drawings and reports into construction plans
  • Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure design, including paving, utilities, grading, and drainage
  • Ability to independently manage projects while collaborating effectively with team members
  • Train, mentor, and oversee drafters and junior staff
  • Delegate and track tasks using project management software
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion
  • Perform or oversee QA/QC reviews prior to submissions
  • Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and strong communication skills
  • Effectively coordinate with reviewing authorities and facilitate approvals
  • Lead project teams and foster strong client relationships

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in land development
  • At least 2 years of project management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Civil 3D
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred

  • This is a full-time, in-office position based in Fort Worth, TX
