Job Description

Door Systems ASSA ABLOY is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Install Manager to join our team in the overhead door and loading dock industry. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the installation department including the performance and scheduling of installation technicians. This role ensures that installation projects are completed safely efficiently and in alignment with company objectives while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage all installation operations to achieve established goals and objectives.
• Oversee technician performance productivity and schedules.
• Ensure technicians are properly trained equipped and competent in their roles.
• Facilitate monthly safety meetings and conduct regular site safety inspections.
• Promote and enforce safe driving practices.
• Investigate workplace injuries and vehicle accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with forecasting monthly installation revenue.
• Manage truck and equipment inventory to support project demands.
• Coordinate project schedules with end-users to ensure timely completion.
• Act as the primary purchaser for installation-related orders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with end-users contractors subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee subcontractor scheduling and labor management.
• Collaborate with the sales team to manage and support installation projects.
• Plan installation schedules ensuring the availability of necessary lift equipment tools PPE and other resources.
• Develop site-specific safety plans in compliance with customer requirements.
• Invoice completed installation orders including progress billing for large projects.
• Work closely with the finance team to provide accurate information for pay applications.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous management experience overseeing field technicians (dock/door industry experience preferred).
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach to resolving issues.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Bachelors degree in construction management business administration or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in installation construction or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience managing crews or technicians in the field preferably in the dock and door industry.
