Job Description

VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-changing media and entertainment business and home to trusted brands that shape culture, inform audiences, and build lasting connections. It operates across four core markets: political news and opinion, business news and personal finance, golf, and sports and genre entertainment. These markets are served through a powerful portfolio of iconic and innovative brands, including CNBC, MS NOW, USA Network, Golf Channel, Oxygen, E!, SYFY, and Versant's sports division USA Sports, along with complementary digital assets including Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and GolfPass.

Job Description

CNBC is seeking a  Community & Subscriber Engagement Director  to build and lead a new forums experience on CNBC.com that deepens audience connection, strengthens subscriber loyalty, and extends CNBC’s authority into interactive dialogue. These forums will function as Reddit-like rooms where subscribers can exchange ideas, ask questions, and engage directly with CNBC’s well-known talent through live conversations and expert-led discussions.

This role is both strategic and operational: setting the vision, launching the platform, and guiding its evolution into a trusted destination for financial conversation. The ideal candidate is a strong manager and collaborative leader who can recruit, develop, and inspire a team while working cross-functionally with editorial, product, subscription, and talent partners.

At a time when audiences are increasingly seeking connection—not just content—and AI tools deliver fast but impersonal answers, this leader will create a community experience that stands apart through human insight, expert access, and thoughtful moderation. Success in this role will be measured not only by engagement, but by the community’s impact on subscriber value, retention, and brand trust

Responsibilities

  • Launch and scale CNBC’s subscriber forums, including structure, guidelines, and moderation approach
  • Hire, lead, and develop a community team and moderator network
  • Develop engagement strategies that drive participation, loyalty, and subscriber retention
  • Partner with editorial and CNBC talent to host live chats, AMAs, and expert discussions
  • Monitor community health and refine strategy using engagement, safety, and retention metrics

At CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, you’ll have access to great perks and amenities:

  • Sweat it out -- Free onsite fitness center with state-of-the-art equipment, plus daily group classes
  • Eat up -- Gourmet cafeteria with daily specials plus soup and salad bars
  • Extras -- Dry cleaning, shoe shining and sneak peeks

Don’t have a car? No problem! We offer free shuttle transportation to and from multiple locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hoboken and Jersey City

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $180,000-$210,000.

Additional Requirements: Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through careers.versantmedia.com to be considered. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
