The Director of Missions & Outreach provides visionary, strategic, and operational leadership for the church’s local and regional mission engagement efforts. The Director will mobilize volunteers, build strategic partnerships, oversee mission initiatives, steward mission resources, and create opportunities for people of all ages to serve Christ through meaningful engagement with the community and world.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive missions and outreach strategy aligned with the church’s mission, vision, and values.
• Create annual goals, strategic initiatives, and measurable outcomes for missions and outreach.
• Identify opportunities for the church to address significant community needs including poverty, food insecurity, education, refugee assistance, crisis response, and family care.
• Recruit, train, equip, and support volunteers serving in missions and outreach ministries.
• Develop leadership pipelines for mission team leaders and outreach coordinators.
• Increase visibility and accessibility of outreach opportunities throughout the church.
• Develop and manage the missions and outreach budget responsibly and strategically.
• Evaluate ministry effectiveness through data, feedback, and measurable outcomes.
• As appropriate or as assigned by Supervisor or Senior Pastor.
• Attend and participate in Staff Chapel, Directors’ Meeting, Staff Lunch, and any “All Staff” functions.
• Participate fully in the worship and life of the church.
• Maintain healthy professional and spiritual boundaries.
• Demonstrate flexibility for evening and weekend ministry responsibilities.
• Support the mission, vision, and culture of the church.
• Serve as an ambassador of the church in the community.
• Demonstrated Christian faith and commitment to the mission of the church.
• Strong alignment with the theology and values of the United Methodist tradition.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent ministry experience.
• Proven leadership experience in missions, outreach, nonprofit leadership, or community engagement.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite.
• Experience recruiting and leading volunteers.
• Excellent relational and collaborative abilities
