Job Summary

Holy Cross Academy seeks a caring, dependable, and faith‑filled Early Childhood Teacher Assistant to support our afternoon (PM) early childhood program. The Teacher Assistant works collaboratively with the lead teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of young children in alignment with Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and daily routines during PM hours
• Support small‑group and individual learning activities
• Help maintain a positive, orderly, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Supervise children during transitions, dismissal, and afternoon activities
• Assist with preparation and cleanup of classroom materials
• Reinforce classroom rules, routines, and positive behavior expectations
• Provide care and assistance with basic needs (snack time, restroom breaks, etc.)
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with teachers, staff, and families
• Model Christian values and support the mission of Holy Cross Academy
• Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and child‑protection guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Experience working with young children (ages 3–6) preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Positive attitude, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
• Commitment to supporting Catholic education and Christian values
• Ability to stand, move, and engage actively with young children

Schedule

• PM hours only (afternoon schedule; exact hours determined by program needs)
• School‑year position

Pre-Employment Screening
