Retail Garden Center Store Associate – Hard Goods

Location: Strader’s Garden Centers – Riverside Drive
Schedule: Full-time | Seasonal & Year-Round Opportunities Available

Our retail garden center is seeking a Store Associate focused on hard goods and garden supplies . This role supports the backbone of our operation—products that require strength, organization, accuracy, and customer guidance (no plant care involved).

What You’ll Do

• Assist customers with garden and outdoor hard goods , including grass seed, fertilizers, soils, weed control products, animal repellents, pest and disease control, pottery, statuary, grills, and tools
• Load soils, pottery, and large items into customer vehicles safely and efficiently
• Stock, organize, and merchandise heavy and bulky products
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with product receiving
• Keep aisles, yards, and storage areas clean, safe, and organized

What We’re Looking For

• Physically capable of lifting and moving 50+ lbs repeatedly
• Comfortable working outdoors and in warehouse-style environments
• Able to follow safety guidelines and product-handling instructions
• Customer-focused with clear communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• Experience in retail, hardware, or farm & garden
• Familiarity with fertilizers, pesticides, soils, or lawn care products
• Familiarity with pest and disease control products
• Forklift experience (or willingness to learn)
