We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Infant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a strong background in infant care, and a commitment to creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment for our youngest learners. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing care to infants, including feeding, diapering, sleep supervision, and comforting following individualized care plans and state regulations. Design and implement daily routines and short play-based learning activities that promote sensory, motor, language, and social-emotional development. Observe and document each child's progress, compile daily reports for families, and communicate changes or concerns promptly and professionally. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, following health, sanitation, and safety policies (including safe sleep practices). Collaborate with co-teachers and the Academic Department to plan curriculum, transition plans, and individualized strategies for infants. Build positive relationships with families through regular communication, parent conferences, and family engagement activities to support continuity of care. Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development to align practices with Bright Futures' program standards and licensing requirements. Skills & Qualifications Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited early childhood education certificate or coursework is preferred. Experience working with infants (volunteer, practicum, or paid) or strong demonstrated interest in early infant care. Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Ability to lift, carry, and safely handle infants and supplies; pass background check and any required state fingerprinting/TB screening. Strong communication skills with children and adults, patience, observation skills, and a team-oriented attitude. Preferred Qualifications Infant/Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate) or enrollment in an ECE certificate/degree program. Knowledge of developmental milestones for 0–18 months and experience implementing individualized care plans. Experience using classroom documentation tools and learning portfolios to record observations and share progress with families. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) or additional language ability to support our diverse Long Beach community.
