Pay Range: $27.47 - $43.27 per hour

Adolescent Psychotherapist: Individual, Group, and Programming @ Sankofa [RL1] – LCSW Lvl 1

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Licensed Clinical Social Worker to be part of the Rush University Medical Center’s Social Work and Community Health (SWaCH) Department at the Rush West Side Mental Health Center !

Jo b Summary

This position in the Social Work and Community Health (SWaCH) Department is based in West Garfield Park and will staff the Rush West Side Mental Health Center, an extension of the existing SWaCH Psychotherapy Clinic located just east in the Illinois Medical District. This position is part of a larger initiative ( Sankofa Wellness Village ), specifically under the Rush Center for Community Well-Being in the Sankofa Village Wellness Center . This position will join an exciting team of individuals who are working to improve health equity on Chicago’s West Side through community engagement, mental health support, and other programming. We are looking for an individual dedicated to supporting our community and who will work collaboratively alongside other tenants of the building.

To best support the mental health needs of this population (a need that has been consistently identified by the community through Rush’s Community Health Needs Assessment and focus groups as the Sankofa Wellness Village concept has been implemented), we are looking for candidates with a strong background in mental health treatment with adolescents and emerging adults, with experience with medically and psychosocially complex populations, and with an interest in intervening with West Side community members and Rush patients dynamically – offering individual and group therapies, creating programming based on community need, being responsive to community events and presentation requests that are identified ad hoc, etc.

This position will join a welcoming and positive work environment with access to individual and group supervision, continuing education opportunities throughout the hospital system (supported by Rush Enhancement Funds), and SWaCH is an approved site for the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program (learn more at: ). This position is full-time and will work on site in the Sankofa Village Wellness Center to support community integration and clinical needs as we open the new Rush West Side Mental Health Center. Other Information

Required Job Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work.
• Licensed Social Worker (LCSW) in State of Illinois.
• Two years’ experience in healthcare, care management, mental health and/or social services.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Experience with relevant population(s).
• Professional qualities such as initiative, self-reflection, commitment, responsiveness and adaptability.
• Knowledge of care management, community-based interventions, assessment, counseling and/or motivational interviewing.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office and others).

Job Responsibilities

• Provides person-centered and trauma-informed mental health services and programs to Rush patients and members of Chicago’s West Side community with a focus on adolescents and emerging adults.
• Addresses the specialized needs of each individual , including adjusting to diagnosis and managing mood concerns as they relate to trauma, depression, anxiety, etc.
• Facilitates group programming primarily focused on youth mental health and wellbeing which includes group psychotherapy, support groups, psychoeducational groups, substance use education, and more.
• Carries out comprehensive psychotherapy intake assessments (both in person and via teletherapy) to develop a plan of care for the client.
• Works collaboratively with patients and families to develop goals and provide the necessary tools, skills, and resources to help achieve those goals.
• Maintains relationships with other Rush providers and tenants of the Sankofa Village Wellness Center through consistent and timely communication and participation in interdisciplinary meetings as scheduled.
• Completes all documentation and billing of patient sessions and other patient interactions in Epic software.
• Connects patients and their families to relevant resources, both at Rush and in the community, to address their needs.
• Develops and implements programs that are attuned to the needs of our West Side community, supporting increased education and with a goal to continue to destigmatize accessing mental health services within our communities.
• Provides support to Rush’s Community Health Worker (CHW) Hub by being available to support assessment and triage as needed.
• Promotes Rush University System for Health clinical services by referring clients to relevant Rush clinics.
• Leverages experience to support team members in training, crisis management, etc. as needed.
• Represents the department at meetings, conferences, or other public engagements on an as-needed basis.
• Participates in community engagement events including, but not limited to, health fairs, Rush events, tenant-run activities, etc.
