Job Description

USAMM is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Military Uniform Tailor to join our on-site team at our Killeen, TX warehouse. In this role, you will be responsible for alterations, repairs, and tailoring of military uniforms to ensure proper fit, adherence to military branch regulations, and professional appearance. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring previous tailoring experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform alterations and repairs on military uniforms, including hemming, taking in/letting out seams, sleeve adjustments, and trouser modifications.

• Ensure all uniform alterations comply with applicable U.S. military branch dress regulations and standards.

• Inspect finished garments for quality, accuracy, and a professional appearance before returning.

• Manage workload efficiently to meet turnaround time expectations and customer needs.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse standards.

• Operate and maintain sewing machines and other tailoring equipment in good working order.

• Communicate with the team leader regarding workload, special requests, or quality concerns.

• Handle military uniforms and insignia with care and respect at all times.

This is a fully on-site position. You will work at USAMM’s warehouse located at 807 Twin Creek Dr, Killeen, TX 76543. The work environment is professional, team-oriented warehouse setting dedicated to servicing military uniforms and products.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional tailoring or alterations experience (required).

• Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of fabrics, including uniform-weight materials such as wool, polyester, and blended dress fabrics.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience tailoring U.S. military uniforms (Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, Space Force, or Coast Guard).

• Familiarity with military uniform wear and appearance standards.

• Experience working in a high-volume or production tailoring environment.
