Job Summary:

The Obstetrics Technician (OB Tech) in Labor & Delivery is responsible for preparing the operating room for surgical procedures, assisting the surgical team during labor and delivery, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout. This role requires at least 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery and certification in CST and BLS. The OB Tech supports patient care by preparing patients, sterilizing equipment, and assisting with surgical tasks during deliveries on night shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room for surgery, including setting up sterile instruments, tables, supplies, medications, and equipment.
• Prepare patients by shaving and cleaning skin prior to surgery and assisting the surgical team with scrubbing in.
• Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist during surgery by passing instruments, sponges, and dressings to the surgeon, retracting tissue, applying suction, and assisting with suturing.
• Maintain sterile technique and a sterile environment throughout procedures.
• Clean and maintain the operating room before and after each procedure.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Ability to maintain sterile technique and assist in surgical procedures.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working night shifts in Labor & Delivery.
• Additional certifications related to obstetrics or surgical technology.

Special Considerations:

• Must be available to work every other week and on holidays as needed.
• Overtime and holiday hours are paid at regular rates.
• Night shift work from 11 PM to 7 AM.

Scheduling:

• Guaranteed 35 hours per week after breaks.
• Night shift schedule: 11 PM to 7 AM.
