Job Title: Full-Time Industrial Painter

Job Description

This full-time Industrial Painter role focuses on preparing and finishing industrial parts and equipment using a variety of paints, including acrylic enamels and two-part acrylic urethanes. You will perform detailed surface preparation, operate spray equipment in a paint booth environment, and carry out touch-up work while maintaining high productivity and quality standards. The position requires a strong team-first mindset, adherence to safety and health regulations, and comfort working with chemicals and industrial equipment such as forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a team-first attitude and align daily work with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Maintain established productivity and quality standards for all painting and prep work.
  • Mix standard paints, including acrylic enamel and two-part acrylic urethanes, to the proper color and consistency.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including grinding, sanding, removal of splatter and rust, power washing, and degreasing.
  • Mask and protect areas that should not be painted to ensure clean and accurate finishes.
  • Set up and operate spray guns and other paint booth equipment for industrial painting applications.
  • Adjust air pressures and spray nozzles according to paint type and desired finish requirements.
  • Perform brush painting and touch-up work as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Carry out general housekeeping and routine maintenance of paint spray equipment, paint booths, and respirators.
  • Follow all department health and safety regulations when working with paints, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Operate a forklift to safely move parts, materials, and equipment within the facility.
  • Monitor, anticipate, and maintain current inventory levels to ensure the availability of required materials.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience with industrial painting, including spray gun operation in a paint booth environment.
  • Ability to mix acrylic enamel and two-part acrylic urethane paints to the correct color and consistency.
  • Hands-on experience with surface preparation techniques such as grinding, sanding, rust removal, power washing, and degreasing.
  • Skill in adjusting air pressures and spray nozzles to achieve specified finishes.
  • Ability to perform precise brush painting and touch-up work.
  • Experience maintaining paint spray equipment, booths, and respirators in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Capability to operate a forklift safely to move parts and equipment.
  • Comfort working with chemicals and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards in an industrial environment.
  • Successful completion of a pulmonary function test (PFT) and respirator fit test, as required for the role.
  • Strong team-first mindset and respect for organizational mission, vision, and values.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, first-shift position with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work in an industrial setting that includes a paint booth, spray guns, and other painting and material-handling equipment, including forklifts. The role involves regular exposure to paints, solvents, and other chemicals, with strict adherence to health and safety regulations. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe footwear and safety glasses, and you must complete a pulmonary function test and respirator fit test before working with respirators.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
