Job Description

Korzen Health is seeking a Traveling Physician to join our team. This position will provide coverage to Healogics Wound Care Centers in the Charlotte, NC region.

For over 25 years, Healogics has been treating patients with chronic wounds from over 600 hospital-based wound care centers across the country. Currently, Healogics treats over 300,000 wound care patients annually and has healed nearly 4 million wounds. Healogics is the worlds leading expert in wound healing.

This position is based in our outpatient wound care clinics and is exclusively dedicated to procedural wound care. Our standard work hours are daytime hours averaging around 40 hours per week. There are no night shifts, on-call responsibilities, holiday hours, or weekend hours. All patients are seen by appointment only; walk-ins are not accepted. Our clinics are integrated within existing Hospitals, and the physician will be employed by Healogics.

This is a procedure-oriented environment primarily serving geriatric patients. The successful candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in their core specialty and possess a strong procedural background. Recent experience with procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage (I&D), or other types of procedures is required, and procedural case logs will be requested as part of the credentialing process. Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy training are available. A full clinical team will be in place from the start date.

Scope of Practice Highlights

  • Full Team support includes Case Manager, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Nurses, Office Manager, and Front/Back End Support
  • We offer advanced wound-care treatments to promote healing, including:

    • Cellulitis therapy

    • Compression therapy

    • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy

    • Infection management and prevention

    • Wound cleaning

    • Wound dressing

  • Standard work hours are daytime hours averaging around 40 hours per week. There are no night shifts, on-call responsibilities, holiday hours, or weekend hours.
  • There is opportunity for growth into leadership positions
  • Each assignment will be 3-6 months long.
  • Regional travel is required.
  • Travel expenses will be covered

Experience Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • Must be Board-Certified
  • Must currently possess a clear and active Medical License and a DEA License in more than one US state.
