job summary:
The Principal Medical Writer is a strategic and scientific leader responsible for developing high-quality, peer-reviewed publications-including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations. This role supports the dissemination of clinical and scientific data by collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and publication planning groups.

responsibilities:
- Scientific Writing: Draft and edit scientifically accurate, original manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress slide decks.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the planning and execution of scientific publications, ensuring alignment with overarching medical strategies and scientific integrity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, and Regulatory teams to interpret data and gather insights.
- Compliance & Ethics: Serve as an subject matter expert on publication standards, ensuring all content adheres to ICMJE and GPP guidelines.
- Account Growth: Build client trust through scientific exchange and expertise across developing and established pipelines.
qualifications:
- Education: Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) is required.
- Certification: CMPP (Certified Medical Publication Professional) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of medical writing experience with a heavy focus on publications.
- Industry Background: Prior experience within a pharmaceutical company, biotech firm, or medical communications agency.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of clinical research, data interpretation, and publication planning tools (e.g., Datavision).
- Standards: Expert-level knowledge of ethical publication standards and best practices.
