Job Description

Ignite your career as a Hospital Facilities Engineer with a mission-driven hospital in Eastern Montana—where your expertise powers lifesaving care, your ideas spark innovation, and your weekends look like adventure ️️.

As a Hospital Facilities Engineer, join a healthcare organization known for a mission-first, patient-centered culture, strong clinical outcomes, and trusted community reputation; expect high-acuity exposure that accelerates skill growth, modern data and analytics that inform smarter decisions, innovation-forward leadership piloting hospital-at-home and telehealth models, streamlined workflows with clinician-friendly tools, and an award-caliber workplace environment that invests in wellbeing, mental health resources, and staffing support for sustainable careers.

The Plant and Facility Operations department—synonymous with Plant Management and Building Operations—relies on a Hospital Facilities Engineer to safeguard a 25-bed footprint that delivers full-spectrum services; this hospital is a not-for-profit, community-governed institution offering comprehensive care with 24/7 emergency services, orthopedics, women’s health, and rehabilitation; the organization operates as a Level IV Trauma Hospital, benefits from a dedicated Foundation that fuels capital upgrades, and provides patient-focused digital access through PatientConnect to strengthen continuity of care across Eastern Montana.

Reporting to a Director of Plant Management, the Hospital Engineer receives clear mentorship, constructive feedback loops, and cross-functional support while overseeing life safety, utilities management, and Environment of Care performance; core responsibilities for the Hospital Facilities Engineer include preventive and predictive maintenance through a CMMS, HVAC and boiler plant oversight, electrical distribution and emergency power testing, medical gas systems stewardship, plumbing and water quality management, fire and smoke barrier integrity, vendor coordination, and small project management, all while partnering daily with friendly nurses and a diverse, collaborative team of clinicians, pharmacy, PT/OT, imaging, environmental services, and biomed to keep patient care safe, reliable, and seamless.

Living in Eastern Montana sets a Hospital Facilities Engineer up for balance and adventure: wide-open skies, blue-ribbon rivers, scenic prairies and badlands, and four-season recreation with hiking, fly-fishing, hunting, cycling, snow sports, and stargazing; a calm, close-knit lifestyle pairs with short commute times, easy parking, and family-friendly neighborhoods, while the local economy offers stability, entrepreneurial opportunity, and a sensible cost of living with diverse housing options from acreage to in-town homes; expect excellent K–12 schools, nearby higher education access, strong public safety, clean air, robust digital connectivity for remote streaming and coursework, and a growing calendar of community events, concerts, fairs, and festivals; regional airports provide quick connections, roadways are open and stress-free, and the area’s arts, culture, and small-business scene add character without sacrificing privacy or space—ideal for a Hospital Engineer seeking both career growth and room to roam.

This Hospital Facilities Engineer opportunity includes competitive compensation with performance incentives, shift and on-call differentials as applicable, and a comprehensive benefits package featuring medical, dental, vision, retirement with match, paid time off, tuition assistance, certification support, CE funding, and clear pathways for advancement; start your next chapter—connect with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter today to explore how this Hospital Engineer role can elevate your career and quality of life in Eastern Montana.
