Setup Technician | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and configure manufacturing equipment for production runs.
• Perform efficient and accurate machine changeovers between production batches.
• Verify tooling, fixtures, and materials meet specifications prior to operation.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment setup issues to minimize downtime.
• Optimize machine parameters and processes during setup for peak performance.
• Document setup procedures, parameters, and changeover times.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Experience performing machine setups, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting in a production environment.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and quality control standards in manufacturing.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLC troubleshooting or basic programming.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., SMED, 5S).
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for interpreting complex engineering drawings.
• Robotics experience for setup and minor adjustments.
• Forklift certification and material handling experience.
